Located along the beautiful Animas River, Escalante Village is footsteps away from the Animas River path and only a 15 minute bike ride to downtown Durango. Across the street is access to the Big Canyon/Sale Barn trail heads which feed into the Horse Gulch trail network. A shopping center and plenty of amenities are all within walking distance.

Affordable Ownership
In today’s world, desirable locations like Durango are facing extreme shortages in affordable housing options. At Escalante Village, we welcome current tiny homeowners or future homeowners who are looking to begin an equity building pathway. There will be limited tiny home rental options available as well.

Customizable Homes
In the spirit of tiny home creativity and personality, Escalante Village encourages homeowners to be unique in customizing their tiny homes. The aesthetics and architecture of the tiny homes will be reviewed for approval prior to moving on-site. The goal is to not have neighboring tiny homes look the same.

Our riverfront property is located along the Animas River near the Purples Cliffs just North of Escalante Middle School. The community is home to 24 tiny home spaces; 6 of the spaces are tiny home rentals (see more info below) and remaining are individually-owned tiny homes. Each space is 20 feet wide x 40 feet deep (the average tiny home is 8 feet wide x 26 feet deep) to accommodate the tiny home, two parked cars and room for a patio.

Living in your Own Tiny Home @ Escalante Village
Escalante Village has 16 spaces leased to those who own their own tiny homes and are interested in living in a tiny home community.

Storage @ Escalante Village
Tiny homes = downsizing, but living in Durango = lots of gear. Therefore, Escalante Village has additional storage units available to rent on-site with easy, secure access. Sizes/Price Options: 8 x 5 = $50.00/month; 8 x 8 = $80.00/month; 8 x 10 = $100/month.
